Veteran Items: Medal, Card, and Eye
Pin
These are Veteran to Veteran Items
These items were given
to my Veteran spouse by another Veteran during a trip to Florida. Evidently,
this recognition of Veterans by Veterans is a common occurrence in Florida.
Most of the time, strangers simply thanked my spouse for his service, and, in
North Carolina, another veteran paid for our breakfast.
The card contains
a star from a large U.S. flag:
“I am part of our
American flag that has flown over the U.S.A. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds
caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you
are not forgotten.”
To all the
Veterans out there: “Thank you for your service.
