Just existing there,

Minding its own business

Only to be

Swooped up and swiped

by a foreigner

A non-speaker of Macedonian

(But fluent in Rock Whispering)

Placed on a shelf

For more than a generation

A place of honor

For this rescue

from Skopje, a vibrant city

In The Balkans

Could this lovely Leaverite

Feel lonely and homesick

For its native land?
